ArshdeeÂp Singh the seam bowler for TeÂam India made a fiery start for India in the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup SupeÂr 8 clash against Australia. It all began with a bang as Arshdeep Singh swiftly dismissed David WarneÂr the lefthanded batsman in the very first over of the match at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St. Lucia on a Monday filled with crickeÂt excitement on June 24th.
To remain in the competition, Australia will need to chase down India’s 206-run target. With the fresh ball, Arshdeep Singh faced two left-handed batters: David Warner and Travis Head. The pacer made a good start to the over, getting the ball to move somewhat.
Arshdeep Singh bowled Warner a lovely outswinger with his final ball of the over. The left-handed batter couldn’t resist playing it. He only managed to push it towards slip, where Suryakumar Yadav made a good grab.

Australia find rhythm after Warner’s dismissal by Arshdeep
Australia was under pressure at the end of the first over but was able to absorb India’s charges to some extent. The Men in Blue’s fielding efforts only fueled the chasing side, as Marsh received numerous reprieves when Rishabh Pant and Arshdeep Singh wasted chances.
Australia jumped to 49/1 as Marsh faced Axar Patel and Head faced Bumrah to maximize the powerplay and keep the required run rate in check.
The Men in Yellow are in a difficult situation at the Super 8 stage after losing to Afghanistan in St. Vincent. Afghanistan is also set to meet Bangladesh in the competition’s final league match, which will determine the final rankings prior to the semi-finals.
