Arshdeep Singh’s exciting last over in India’s 5th T20I against Australia included a moment that left numerous visiting players stunned. Nathan Ellis hammered a delivery straight back at the nonstriker’s end with nine runs required off two deliveries.
Despite being in his follow-through, Arshdeep Singh was able to divert the ball with his right hand. However, it slipped from his grasp and struck the umpire in the right leg, allowing the hitters to take only a single.
Nathan Ellis was stunned because he thought he had enough bat behind the ball to reach a boundary. It wasn’t the umpire’s fault because he sought to avoid being hit and took evasive measures.
Tim David and others in the dugout could only chuckle and shake their heads in misery as that moment sealed India’s victory. Here’s the video:
Arshdeep Singh’s Remarkable Calmness Under Pressure
The team India is getting ready for some exciting action next week! They’re off to South Africa for a thrilling T20I, ODI, and Test series. Their first challenge? A T20I against the home team on December 10, right at Durban’s Kingsmead.
However, just as it appeared like Matthew Wade would lead Australia to victory, Arshdeep delivered a remarkable last over in which he surrendered just three singles.
The series had already been settled, with India winning 3-1 in Raipur. Arshdeep Singh, on the other hand, will draw tremendous comfort from his ability to perform under extreme duress against a world-class finisher like Wade.
The Men in Blue will now face South Africa in three T20Is and three ODIs before a blockbuster Test series with some major names returning to action.
