In the current IPL 2024 clash at Mullanpur, Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) new-ball bowler Arshdeep Singh dismissed two key SunRisers Hyderabad batters in a single over. Arshdeep Singh struck early blows, removing Travis Head and Aiden Markram. This setback put the visitors on the backfoot.
After Abhishek Sharma narrowly avoided a run-out chance, the dismissals occurred in the fourth over. Head aimed to smash a full delivery from Arshdeep Singh but could only edge it. Shikhar Dhawan, stationed at mid-off, took an excellent catch. Just one ball later, Markram too edged behind to wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma.
Arshdeep Singh had already bowled an outstanding opening over, with Abhishek Sharma surviving twice and conceding six runs. Earlier, the Punjab Kings elected to bowl first after Dhawan won the toss and declared an unchanged lineup.
PBKS Fail to Review Potential Caught-Behind on Travis Head’s Opening Delivery
Travis Head, who scored a half-century on his debut for SunRisers Hyderabad, edged the opening delivery of the innings off Kagiso Rabada. While Jitesh Sharma filed an appeal, no other PBKS player, including the bowler, supported him as fiercely. The Australian left-hander put Rabada under strain in his following over, hitting three consecutive boundaries.
Arshdeep defeated Head, who walked back scoring 21 from 15 balls. Punjab Kings won big versus Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. Singh and Sharma helped them chase 200 runs.
SunRisers led by Pat Cummins also won last time, beating CSK at home by 6 wickets. Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram starred with the bat for SunRisers in victory.
