Anushka Sharma wife of RCB stalwart Virat Kohli was seen celebrating joyously in the stands after RCB secured a sensational victory against CSK in the IPL 2024 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 18. With their sixth consecutive win RCB notched the fourth spot on the points table guaranteeing a place in the playoffs.
Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar took control in the initial innings propelling the home team to a score of 218/5. Rachin Ravindra (61) and Ravindra Jadeja (42*) fought to keep Chennai Super Kings in the competition supported by Ajinkya Rahane (33) and MS Dhoni (25). Despite their efforts CSK could only manage to reach 191/7 in 20 overs leading to a defeat by 27 runs.
Anushka Sharma fervently backed Virat Kohli and the RCB team throughout the match from the stands. The Bengaluru teams triumph in the final over filled her with immense joy leading to an emotional celebration marked by a vibrant double fist pump.

“It’s been amazing and I experienced an unbelievable atmosphere”- RCB captain Faf du Plessis
At the post-match presentation, Faf du Plessis reminisced on the victory, saying:
“It’s been amazing and I experienced an unbelievable atmosphere. I thank the fans and we are grateful for the RCB fans. We will soak the applause, celebrate and get back to work tomorrow. Our first goal before the start of the IPL is to qualify for the knockouts and we have done that.”

Du Plessis presented his Player of the Match award to Yash Dayal and hailed the pacer’s effort, saying:
“The last over that Dayal bowled was unbelievable and he equally deserves the Man of the match. So, I want to share this with him. I felt like the yorkers wasn’t working so I told him to go back to your strengths, which is a slow ball.”
