Veteran leg-spinner for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Amit Mishra admired Ravi Bishnoi’s bowling efforts and his desire to learn and grow. Mishra claims that he and Bishnoi are close and always offer sound advice to the younger man when asked for it.
LSG beat SRH by five wickets thanks to solid performances from Mishra and Bishnoi. Bishnoi took only 1/16 in his allotted overs, while the former recorded 2/23. LSG limited SRH to 121/8 thanks to the partnership’s efforts and left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya (3/18), and then they reached the goal in 16 overs.
After the game, Amit Mishra gave his assessment of young Bishnoi. At the press conference following the game, he praised Bishnoi, saying:
“Bishnoi is bowling well, and we share an excellent bond. He always approaches me for an advice, and I always guide him. The best thing about Bishnoi is that he is curious to learn new things, and I tell him things according to his bowling. Every bowler is different, & everyone’s style is different.”
The seasoned bowler commented on the differences between the two leg-spinners, saying:
“He has a ‘waiting game’ style of bowling and waits for the batter to make any mistake. On the other hand, I, as a bowler, make the batsman make a mistake. That’s it, this is the difference, and we need to understand it.”
Despite being the more seasoned of the two spinners, Mishra followed Bishnoi in the bowling order. The 40-year-old provided some context for the decision by saying:
“The idea was that when the ball is new, it skids more, so Bishnoi was given the bowl because his ball skids. It spins more when the ball gets old, and then I could deliver googlies and use variations.”
Bishnoi took only one wicket, but Harry Brook, who was on three, was a significant one.

Amit Mishra made sure SRH didn’t get a victory lap by claiming the wickets of Washington Sundar and Adil Rashid. His performance was remarkable, but the veteran cricketer insisted he had done nothing unusual. About his efforts, Amit Mishra said:
“I didn’t do anything special; I just tried to read the wickets and what shots the batters could play on my ball, which gave me success. I’m thrilled, not because of my performance but because our team won. This gives us confidence going into the next match.”
On Monday, April 10, Lucknow Super Giants will travel to Bengaluru to play against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
