Robin Uthappa has praised Chennai Super Kings batsman Ambati Rayudu, calling him one of the country’s most undervalued players.

In an interview with Jio Cinema, Uthappa said that Rayudu could have been a member of India’s Test lineup as well. He emphasised that Ambati Rayudu is a really knowledgeable player.

“He has been there, done that, and seen it all. He is one of the most underrated cricketers, India has ever produced. He should have played Test Cricket, I can’t believe he did not play the game. He is an astute student of the game, someone who knows the game inside out.”

“Absolute team man will do anything for the team. Every team would have loved to have him. I have loved him from the age of my junior days.”

Rayudu has had remarkable success in IPL throughout the years. However, he has failed to get going in the most recent edition, scoring just 139 runs in 11 innings.

The reigning champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings are all set to face off in the IPL 2023 final. The game was originally scheduled on May 28.

The game was cancelled due to severe rain in Ahmedabad. The final clash has been moved to the reserve day, which will now be held on Monday.

Ambati Rayudu announced his departure from the league on his Twitter account ahead of the IPL Final. The batter’s last participation in the IPL will be in the 2023 season.

In 203 IPL matches, the batter has scored 4329 runs. Ambati Rayudu has won the title five times, three times with the Mumbai Indians and twice with Chennai Super Kings
