Kohli and de Villiers have formed some of the most memorable IPL combinations in history. The tandem holds the record for the biggest wicket partnership in tournament history, putting on 229 for the Gujarat Lions in the 2016 edition. The Indian and South African legend also has the record for most runs in a partnership.

In multiple IPL seasons, Royal Challengers’ skipper Virat Kohli tops the charts for runs scored. The right-handed 35-year-old has smashed 7263 runs across 237 games at 37.24. Seven brilliant centuries too! His 2016 tally of 973 runs is unmatched in IPL history – a record yet to be surpassed.

Speaking on his latest YouTube channel, the 40-year-old predicted that the former captain would be at his height in the IPL 2024, and that RCB will end their title drought this year.

De Villiers said:

“Stalwart, King Kohli, over 7000 runs, over 200 IPL matches — but that’s simply incredible. That’s like a career in itself. Virat will be back. We’ve missed him dearly and absolutely cannot wait to watch the best of him this coming season. The bowling department, led by Mohammed Siraj, plays a huge role in that bowling department.

AB de Villiers added:

“I think there’s very nice depth this time around, and I think that’s one of the big reasons I feel RCB is going to go all the way this year.”

However the team from Bengaluru hasn’t exactly had a great track record at MA Chidambaram Stadium. Additionally, the Super Kings have triumphed over RCB 20 times out of 30.
