Because of his unselfish style, Aakash Chopra feels that Rohit Sharma should be given more recognition for his abilities as a batsman and captain.
In the league stage, Rohit guided India to an all-win record to the 2023 World Cup semi-finals. He has consistently provided the squad with soaring starts and has skillfully managed his bowling resources.
In a video that he posted on his YouTube account, Chopra fielded a question on whether Rohit deserves more recognition for his daring batting and superb leadership. In response, he gave the following justification:
“I am with you 100 percent. When you bat at the top of the order, whether you are chasing or batting first, you have the canvas of the entire 50 overs. So you apply small strokes and move ahead if you are making a painting.”
“Then you can apply bigger strokes later, and no one can stop Rohit Sharma. The circle (field restrictions) and all don’t make a difference to Rohit Sharma. When he hits, the ball goes into the stands. However, there isn’t a selfish bone in his body, the fearless way in which he bats.”

During the current World Cup, Rohit has smashed 503 runs with a fantastic strike rate of 121.49 in nine innings. Even with his aggressive batting style, he is only fourth in the competition in terms of runs scored, behind Virat Kohli (594), Quinton de Kock (591), and Rachin Ravindra (565).

Aakash Chopra complimented Rohit Sharma for his responsible batting while India was having trouble against England, while also emphasizing that he is making the tasks of the other batsmen simpler. He clarified:
“In fact, he is doing so well that whoever is going to come from No. 3 to No. 6, does not have to worry at all about the strike rate. However, on a day when they become 25/3, he showed that he can play a cautious knock against England. So Rohit Sharma as a batter – outstanding.”

The former cricket player who is now a broadcaster was pleased with how the Indian captain handled his bowlers. He clarified:
“As a captain, he uses the bowling extremely well. When you have only five bowlers, you feel at times when and if you should use the sixth bowler, but he is absolutely exceptional. It doesn’t work out without a good captain.”

After Hardik Pandya was declared out of the tournament, the Men in Blue were severely impacted as they lost their sixth and most effective bowling option. In the crucial final league match against the Netherlands, Rohit used a good rotation strategy with the five bowlers who were available, even giving a few part-timers a go.
