Mumbai Indians (MI) have allegedly completed a deal for Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans while simultaneously trading all-rounder Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), in order to boost their cash for the forthcoming IPL player auction on December 19.
While a BCCI official verified these transactions, the IPL and the different franchises have yet to make an official statement. These transactions occurred after the franchises’ 5 p.m. IST deadline for disclosing the lists of players released and retained prior to the auction. Hardik Pandya was still with the Titans at the time of the deadline, and Cameron Green was on Mumbai’s list of retained players.

3. Corey Anderson
Corey Anderson was signed by MI for 45 million rupees (US$750,000) in the seventh season of the IPL. In his debut against the Kolkata Knight Riders, he only got two runs before being removed by Sunil Narine. Anderson bowled three overs, allowing 33 runs and taking no wickets.
When Anderson won man-of-the-match against the Kings XI Punjab (now the Punjab Kings), he took Cheteshwar Pujara’s wicket and scored 35 runs off of 25 balls. That was the first time Anderson really made an impression.
In the Mumbai Indians’ May 25, 2014, game against the Rajasthan Royals, Anderson was a key player in leading the team to the postseason. Mumbai was able to chase down the goal of 190 in only 14.3 overs thanks to his unbeaten 95 off just 44 balls, improving their net run rate and advancing them to the playoffs.
In the first four matches of the eighth IPL season, Anderson demonstrated his batting ability with two half-centuries in four games. Nevertheless, a finger injury kept him out of action.
Anderson was bought by the Delhi Daredevils for INR 1 crore in February 2017 for the 2017 Indian Premier League. He was later called up to the Royal Challengers Bangalore team for the 2018 IPL season, replacing fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile. However, he was never completely established with RCB and had average results – 17 runs in 3 matches – after this season, and his IPL career never truly took off after this season.
2. Saurabh Tiwary
During the 2010 season, Saurabh Tiwary made headlines for his outstanding efforts for MI. Despite being a member of the team for the first two seasons, the Jharkhand player had minimal action. He made the 2010 season his own, scoring 419 runs in 16 matches and leading the Mumbai Indians to their first IPL final.
RCB paid a high sum for him in the 2011 auction. Unfortunately, Tiwary was unable to recreate his previous success, failing to reach 200 runs in his three seasons with the team. During his three-year stay, he only managed one half-century for the squad.
1. Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik began his IPL career with the Delhi Daredevils before being signed by MI in 2012. He was their chosen wicketkeeper-batter, and his spell with the Mumbai Indians did not start well. In 2012, he managed only 238 runs in 17 matches, with an average of 18.30.
However, the Tamil Nadu batter improved her performance in 2013, amassing 510 runs in 19 matches, with a top score of 86. He was efficient behind the wickets, with 12 catches and two stumpings.
Karthik joined the RCB squad in 2015 after a stint with the Delhi Daredevils in 2014. However, the 2015 season was the low point in his IPL career, with only 141 runs in 16 matches for the Bangalore franchise. Notably, he did not hit 30 runs in any game this season.
However, he built a reputation for himself as a finisher for RCB over the previous two years and has been retained by the brand ahead of the 2024 edition of the cash-rich event. Karthik played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (2018–2021) and Gujarat Lions (2016–2017) before to joining the Royal Bengal Tigers in 2022.
