LSG is likely to be deprived of the services of their left-arm pacer, Mohsin Khan, in this season’s Indian Premier League. Khan is currently dealing with an injury, and though he has been training with the LSG squad, his involvement in this year’s Indian Premier League seems uncertain.
Khan had a remarkable season last year, taking 14 wickets in 9 matches with an impressive economy rate of 5.97. If he is unable to play in the upcoming season of IPL, then LSG may consider signing one of these players to take his place:
1) Dhawal Kulkarni
34-year-old Mumbai pacer Dhawal Kulkarni could be an attractive choice for LSG. Kulkarni can provide invaluable help to the team. Although he went unsold in the mini auction last December, the seasoned cricketer has seen action in 92 IPL encounters, claiming 86 wickets. He has also played 155 T20s and represented India in limited-overs matches.
2) Akash Singh
Akash Singh, the left-arm pacer who was part of the Indian team at the 2020 U-19 World Cup, is a viable option for LSG. During the tournament, he snatched 7 wickets in 6 games. His impressive performance at the World Cup helped India reach the finals. He had already appeared in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals, taking part in a single game for them.
3) Varun Aaron
Varun Aaron is an experienced IPL player. He appeared in nine Tests and nine ODIs for India. Though he has encountered some inconsistency issues, Aaron’s 52 Indian Premier League games equate to an impressive 44 wickets. In the absence of Mohsin Khan, LSG could look to Aaron’s experience to help fill the gap.
