Mohsin Khan is back in the lineup for the Lucknow Super Giants this season after a good debut season in IPL 2022, where he took 14 wickets.
After returning from injury this season, the left-arm medium pacer has only taken a couple of wickets in three matches this year. In the last few games, he returned to action and gave a clutch effort against the Mumbai Indians in a critical match for LSG.
Mohsin Khan bowled a fantastic last over against the Mumbai Indians, despite his numbers of 1/26 from three overs. He defended 11 runs in the last over to help his team earn a couple of critical points in the playoff race.
Mohsin Khan has been nothing short of spectacular ever since his debut. In his rookie season, he took 14 wickets in 9 matches, at an economy rate of 5.97. Injuries have slowed his growth, but there is evidence that Mohsin Khan might be the next great thing in Indian cricket. Here are three of the reasons why he can be the star of Indian cricket:
1) Mohsin possesses natural talent.
IPL is one of the toughest tournaments. Mohsin Khan showed his class in his rookie season, convincing everyone that he can handle some of the world’s finest batters.
His 14 wickets last season stand out obviously, but it is his economy rate that is so good. Only allowing 5.97 runs per over, he was not only one of the most economical fast bowler. He was also a wicket-taking choice for the team which puts him in elite company.
2) Left arm seamer
Left-arm seamers are usually sought after by the Indian cricket squad. Whether it is the success of Ashish Nehra and Zaheer Khan or Arshdeep Singh’s recent breakthrough, left-arm seamers are always given the chance to establish their worth in the Indian team.
Mohsin is one of the most outstanding bowlers emerging on the domestic scene. He generates some additional bounce and is a skiddy customer who is difficult for batters to get away from. This puts him in the running to be one of the country’s better emerging bowlers.
3) Can bowl in all phases
Mohsin Khan has demonstrated that he can be a trustworthy bowler in all phases of the game. The left-arm seamer was exceptional with the new ball and also demonstrated his arsenal of tricks towards the end of innings last season.
Mohsin has shown that he possesses the technique along with the temperament to excel in all phases of the game. This year, his performance might be affected by his injuries. Surely he can be a nightmare for batsmen.
